Christmas morning came WAY too soon! We heard the kids stirring upstairs around 5:45 a.m. Thank goodness they didn't come down until 6:00. I think they were a little excited. This year we decided to have a simple Christmas and have been talking to the kids about being generous and gracious. So with that being said they knew this year the gifts would be: something they want, something they need, something to give and something to read. We are blessed with so much it is important to Dave and I to teach the kids what Christmas is really about and it is NOT about gifts...its about the birth of our Savior. The gift the kids wanted were and American Girl doll for Gabby and a Crazy Scooter for Tristan. The something that both kids needed were clothes...they are growing like weeds and none of their clothes fit them anymore. The something to give was we adopted a family and gave gifts to the children. The something to read were a few of their favorite books. It has been a blessed year for us and we give thanks to God for all he has done for us. It was a wonderful Christmas morning spending time together remembering the reason for this season and not overwhelmed with things to do.
