We started our December with our annual trip to our favorite neighborhood to see Christmas lights. Deerfield Estates has the most amazing lights in our area and the kids really enjoy going through the neighborhood seeing all the decorations...it really put us in the holiday spirit.
Our friends the Woodricks hosted an Ugly Sweater Party. Dave won for the ugliest homemade sweater...I didn't get a good picture of it but he made a REALLY tacky "sweater vest" out of tinsel. We both won for the ugliest couples sweaters. It was a great night with friends.
The high school football championship games are played at Cowboy Stadium each year. This year Georgetown made it to the championship. We met Dave's mom....Nanny and Mark out at the game to cheer on Georgetown. It was so fun spending time with her and watching a little high school football. Unfortunately Georgetown lost to Denton but it was still a fun day.
Our church has a partnership with SOUL church in downtown Dallas...it is an outdoor church for the homeless of Dallas. We went as a family the Sunday before Christmas...to hand out blankets, minister and serve them breakfast. It was such a humbling experience. We left feeling so thankful for the many blessing we have. It was a great teaching opportunity for us with the kids to talk about how blessed we truly are.
